This was a benefit road trip to raise money
to help patients pay for their treatment
and for Drs. Jones and Jemsek's legal defense.

Lyme Patients struggle to get
diagnosis and treatment!

Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA)
Treatment Guidelines discourage long-term
treatment for Chronic Lyme Disease!

Insurance companies use the IDSA Guidelines
to deny long-term treatment benefits!

Patients have to pay for treatment themselves!

Lyme Physicians are being prosecuted
for Lyme treatment-related issues!

We lit and carried a torch
in honor of Lyme patients and physicians
who are both victims of this disease.

At 10:00 a.m. on Monday May 14th, 2007 we lit the torch in Atlanta, Georgia across from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) building at 1600 Clifton Road.

We kept the Lyme Torch lit from Atlanta, Georgia through Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico until we reached Mesa, Arizona, a trip of more than 1800 miles.
